This bug is very old and the Ubuntu version is EOL you use. Do you still
have the laptop and this problem? Thank you for telling us!

Bug description:
There are some problem with ubuntu (and much other distros) with this notebook.
The notebook power management is not correct, when you power on the notebook, usually the display don't start.
For fix I have to shutdown and restart much times.
I think this problem is related to acpi management.
I having this problem since my first ubuntu 6,04 to now (8,04).
I hope you will fix this problem, I'm worrie to damage the notebook...
