OK, I see the issue. If you are comfortable with the terminal we can
correct this.

In the terminal enter:

    sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list

Once the file has opened find the line you pasted back to me. Using the
arrow keys and editing the line. Change it to look like the line below.

    deb http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu precise partner

Once the same. Type 'CTRL+X', you will be prompted to save the file. At
this point hit 'y' and it will save and exit back to the terminal. One
this is the case run the following command in the terminal.

    sudo apt-get update

After this, all should be fine.

  i WAS DIRECTED TO REPORT THIS PROBLEM TO THE UPDATE MANAGER AND
  INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING LINE:

  'E:Malformed line 46 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list (dist
  parse)'

  i HAVE NO IDEA OF WHAT TO DO NEXT, IF ANYTHING. I REPORTED THIS PROBLE
  EARLIER. I EXPECTED TO GET A NOTICE OF SOMETHING. I HAVE HEARD
  NOTHING.
