closing this issue as invalid, as components not distributed with Ubuntu
are used. I can import numpy and scipy in Idle in raring.

** Changed in: python-defaults (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Invalid

Title:
  Python IDLE crashes (closes) when a working script modified. Also
  crashes in some interactive use (with numpy, scipy etc)

Status in “python-defaults” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  I am using numpy version 1.6.1 and also a recent scipy version (more
  recent than cononical repository). The same program scripts don't
  crash on a windows Idle. Also I got the same IDLE 'close out' problem
  when I typed a simple statement , e.g. numpy.random.rand(100)
  <pressing enter crashed idle>.

  The Terminal python with gedit editor works ok but I miss the auto
  complete Idle feature, also I've been using Idle from 2003! So miss
  using this environment.

  See if you guys can figure this out.

  Cheers
