Unable to get logs, because the system is so slow, it is difficult to
open any window and the work done.

Title:
Ubuntu is 20 times slower when installed when compared to running live
  USB

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  After installing Ubuntu 12.04.2, 12.04.1, 12.10, 13.04 on hard drive I
see big difference in OS performance. When running Live Ubuntu from
USB I see better performance. I tried 32-bit and 64-bit version.

  Configuration:
  Laptop Asus R1E
  RAM: 4GB
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz
  Graphics: Intel 965

It could be caused by graphics driver. Intel 965 seems to be only
supported on 13.04 when running from Live USB. When installing 13.04
on hard drive however the system is unusable (about 100 times slower)
after waiting for more than 1 hour I had to shutdown machine by
  holding power button).

I believe that Intel 965 driver used on 13.04 live should be also used
for 13.04 hard disk install. This driver should also be used on 12.04.
This driver needs to be part of ISO (not just update) otherwise it is
impossible to use the system. Opening one window can take 10 minutes.

However the driver issue may not explain the huge difference in performance when comparing Live USB and hard drive install of all these Ubuntu releases: 12.04.2, 12.04.1, 12.10, 13.04.
Clearly standard install breaks Ubuntu somehow.
