The reporter is running precise and it looks like they may have some PPA
versions of unity packages installed which would cause an issue.

Bug description:
  After running the software updater, the user is asked to run a partial
  upgrade. Then, after some time, it fails due to the inability to
  upgrade the "ubuntu-desktop" package.
