Indeed, it appears fixed using the latest kernel from proposed. If it
shuts down and boots cleanly everytime for me and other people then it
is finally useable. As long as root unmounts cleanly during shutdown and
does not cause corruption we are good.

Hopefully there are no other regressions introduced.
