[Bug 1183681] [NEW] Version upgrade of Kubuntu did not continue past MSCoreFonts so was closed. Restarting upgrade does not work.

Public bug reported:

Upgrade via Muon Update Manager to 12.10 did not finish, it would not continue past MSCoreFonts install.
No error was given.
After leaving it overnight without any change I closed Update Manager and confirmed that I did not want to continue Upgrade.
Upgrade will not restart normally; at 'Preparing to upgrade' I receive: 'Preparing the upgrade failed'.
