It seems to still be there in the 2013-09-30 Desktop amd64+mac disc
image.  The installation went fine but not reboot.  Had to powercycle.

  complete

  The CD/DVD is ejected fine and the screen is cleared to a text
  console, then after a few steps, it hangs.
