I think this is a Security issue and should be taken care of as soon as possible.
Given the idea that ubiquity should be an easy-to-treat installer it is not really acceptable to have to make the partitioning yourself while it would be possible to automate this.

Bug description:
Ubiquity installer in 12.10 and 13.04 offers the ability to install
Ubuntu with Full Disk Encryption, with checkboxes for encryption and
LVM. However, the options are only available when replacing an
existing operating system. If I wish to install Ubuntu alongside
another OS, the options become greyed out (see screenshot).
