Same bug, KDE 4.11.1 . No updates is selected but the it shows 9
packages to update. When I clicked on the update button, update window
shows for a second and then disappears.

Update Manager shows '2 updates have been selected' when no updates
  are available

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
The Update Manager is showing '2 updates have been selected' when no updates are available.
I did a 'sudo apt-get upgrade' and it shows no updates.

  Reading package lists... Done
  Building dependency tree
  Reading state information... Done
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

I refreshed the package lists multiple times and it still shows this.
