It is not enough to just remove the sources.list files for the PPA, you
also need to downgrade to the official ubuntu versions of the packages
provided by that PPA. The page I linked to contains the following:
"To revert to official packages, install the ppa-purge package and run
"sudo ppa-purge xorg-edgers". Note: This currently has issues in oneiric
because ppa-purge there does not work with multiarch. ppa-purge packages
from this PPA do purge correctly on precise and newer."

Update 13.04 problem
Status in “ubuntu-release-upgrader” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
When I've tried to update I got the message:
An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.
This can be caused by:
* Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu
I'm using release 13.04. All files from /etc/apt/source.list.d/ were
removed.
