Hi Brian

Thanks for taking the time to send such a detailed correspondence. It's
really very helpful. I had a deed concern about that error and the
possibility of affecting or even ruining the installation. I try to migrate
to Linux for quite a long time and I have faced not a few disasters in the
past three years. But one thing is for sure: Linux has a lot to offer to
people. All you open source guys are doing a great-great job and offer a
great gift and experience to humanity.
I really am amazed of how powerful (K)ubuntu has become.

Bug description:
  Kubuntu: While upgrading to version 13.10 from 13.04 sytem asked about
  removing obsolete packages. I said "Yes" and the installer returned
  this error message. I wonder how fatal this could be. PLease help.
