Title:
Can't install packages built for other architectures

Status in “python-apt” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gdebi

To make installation of 32 bits software in ubuntu 64 bits (zsnes, etc
...) easier, gdebi have to work with 32 bits packages.

A warning to know that this package is not for this architecture can be show to prevent installation of 32 bits package when a 64 bits one exist.
If the user agree the installation gdebi have to search if ia32-libs is installed and if it's not he add it at dependencies, and after gdebi will install the 32bits package.

It will be a good new feature for 64 bits Hardy !
