Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. I noticed that you reported this from an older version
of the development release of Ubuntu. It would be helpful if you could
retest this with the latest daily build of Ubuntu. Thanks in advance!

Title:
Error: restoring installed applications after system upgrade

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Ran into complications during the execution of 'Install (manual
partitioning re-using home partition)' testcase from the QA Tracker.

Note: The existing OS (pre-upgrade) had no extra applications
installed as it was a fresh install (daily version 20130704) from
  another test case.

After acknowledging the error the system seem to reboot ok and upon
re-logging in there didn't seem to be a problems with the main
  applications.
