Public bug reported:

I'm trying to install onto a USB stick (/dev/sdb1) from an existing
ubuntu-gnome installation. I'm using the "something else" option and
trying to use a btrfs, partition, but the same crash happens if I choose
ext4.

The syslog compains about not being able to find files starting with
/target. See attached syslog.
