You appear to be trying to install to a disk set up for bios booting
rather than EFI, but you booted the installer in EFI mode.  You need to
boot the install cd in bios mode if you don't want to convert to EFI.

Bug description:
  I  try to install Ubuntu 14.04 64bit Beta 2 on my Dell Alienware M14x
  R2 and it fails. Ubuntu 13.10 64bit installs fine. Ubuntu 14.04 32bit
  Beta 2 also installs fine...
