[Bug 1305116] [NEW] Installation fails when installing GRUB to disk

Public bug reported:

When installing Ubuntu 14.04 on my machine, the installation fails at
the step where GRUB is installed onto the disk. I got a message saying
something like:

"Installation of GRUB to disk /dev/sdd failed. This is a fatal error".
