The same problem happens in the different About boxes of GTK+ 3 apps:
try clicking "Credits" and "License". Could this be webkit-related?

  1. Check for updates when updates are available.
  2. Select an update and expand the "Technical description" section.

  What you see: The "Changes" tab uses monochrome font smoothing.

  What you should see: The "Changes" tab uses the same font smoothing
  method as the rest of the system.
