Bug description:
  tried to activate ALL languages in Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal; any
  provided updates (standard settings) have been installed before.

  Several tries followed (changing to main-source, activating proposed,
  restarts, apt-get via terminal, etc.) but no success, it hangs.

  I remember some dependencies in oneiric that were not satisfied, as
  long as the language-selector alternatives were not activates, but
  that's just pointing into darkened areas of my memory.
