Never mind.  Duplicate of #1309752 because I had VLC selected at install
time.  Closing as this report provides no additional info that was not
already in existing bug reports.

Bug description:
  The Mythbuntu 14.04 installer crashes when attempting a fresh
  installation onto a blank hard disk.  This is with the final release
  version of the installer on a frontend/backend HTPC system.
