The "xubuntu-desktop" package reinstalling those packages back wouldn't
be an issue but an expected result. However, (some of) the packages are
pulled back even if you "only" have "xubuntu-default-settings"
installed.

** Package changed: ubuntu-release-upgrader (Ubuntu) => xubuntu-default-
settings (Ubuntu)

** Changed in: xubuntu-default-settings (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Confirmed

** Changed in: xubuntu-default-settings (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Undecided => Critical

** Changed in: xubuntu-default-settings (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Critical => Low

Title:
  XUbuntu reinstalls all default packages on release update

Status in “xubuntu-default-settings” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Hi!

  Everytime I do an (X)Ubuntu upgrade to a new release, all the default
  packages that I uninstalled have been reinstalled again, and I have to
  uninstall all of them again.

  Versions: Upgrade to XUbuntu 14.04, but happened on upgrades before.
