Public bug reported:

I am testing Ubuntu server 12.04.5 iso. Shortly after beginning I get "no network interfaces detected" alt f4 shows:
[netcfg] "WARNING **: Couldn't read Wpasupplicant pid file, not trying to kill
[netcfg] INFO: Could not find valid BOOTIF= entry in /proc/cmdline

I am in vbox vm triggered by testdrive with default NAT that no other
iso has faulted on

** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
