Public bug reported:

In update manager 14.04.1 LTS is available as new Ubuntu release. However unable to finish installation/upgrade.
First I get
quote
Could not calculate the upgrade
An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.
Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the following error message:
'E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.'

It seems that system now halted by Update Manager icon reporting 3084 updates have been selected, and 3259.4 MB will be downloaded.
I live way out in the country, where connection is old fashion cobber wire only, so no wonder the system go into "knee" position
