Your installation disc is corrupt.  You will need to recreate it and you
may want to choose the check disc option at the boot menu to verify it.

Bug description:
  I tried installing Ubuntu 14.10 using a USB installer and it crashed
  citing the reason as bad formating of the installer. I don't think the
  installer is poorly formatted.
