Title:
  Recovery menu should have a "Run in failsafe text/console mode"

Status in friendly-recovery package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Recovery menu should have a "Run in failsafe text/console mode".

  When playing with proprietary graphic drivers, the "Graphical" mode
  can screw up badly, up to the point that one cannot even switch to a
  TTY Console (happened to me recently with nVidia proprietary drivers).

  One can accomplish a "Run in failsafe text/console mode" with "Drop to
  root shell prompt" and mount and restart the networking, but this is
  tedious, especially if one needs to reboot the machine multiple times
  to test the fixes.

  So I suggest that "Run in failsafe text/console mode" be implemented;
  should not be difficult as it should do exactly what the Graphic mode
  does, except starting X.
