Bug description:
  a native aarch64 bootstrap is currently broken, needing the attached
  patch. Apparently it is not seen for a cross build, when the c++
  compiler isn't used as in stage2 for a native build.

  The build goes further, but then fails in the compare step:

  Bootstrap comparison failure!
