@Phillip Susi: Did you read the entire bug and comments, or just the
title? As per comment #16, this is clearly an issue that needs to be
addressed?

Bug description:
  In Dolphin the user can see all local dirves, both mounted and
  unmounted. However, often the user cannot browse the disks because
  they belong to root. I suggest that at install time, all local disks
  be chowned to the user configured in the install.
