Title:
update from Saucy to Trusty (devel between A1 and A2) crashed out with
"too many open files"
Status in “dpkg” package in Ubuntu:
Fix Committed
Status in “dpkg” package in Debian:
Unknown
Bug description:
When upgrading from Saucy to Trusty (to development on 17-jan-2013,
somewhere between Alpha 1 and Alpha2), the dpkg phase imploded with
post install throwing errors regarding "Too many open files":
2014-01-17 11:33:40,433 ERROR got an error from dpkg for pkg: 'libnss-mdns': 'failed to open trigger interest list file
`/var/lib/dpkg/triggers/ldconfig': Too many open files'
update-manager then went on to run an emergency configure which did
complete the install, though it did not offer to purge nor reboot
(which is probabally a good thing).
