Title:
upgrade to >= 8.20, enable JIT support

Status in “pcre3” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
I would love to see pcre >= 8.20 in precise pangolin (12.04) because
of JIT support (requires --enable-jit configure argument)

Nginx 1.1.x and other software that supports pcre jit flags can benefit from huge performance improvements using complex, precompiled regular expressions.

  See http://sljit.sourceforge.net/pcre.html for more details.

Since precise will be LTS release, enterprise users will not be able
to take advantage of this exciting PCRE feature.
