Title:
"package does not exist, check the spelling of the package".
Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Dear anybody,
I am not that known with Linux but I am doing my best.
It all started with not being able to download any software from the Ubuntu Software Center or update anything from the Update Manager. I got this error: "Failed to download repository information". After that I went to the Software Sources, to Other Software tab and chose the desire PPA from the list and removed it.
So I tried again installing some software, instead it gave me the
error "package name doesn't exsist, check the spelling of the
package." Also The button "download" on Ubuntu Software Center at the
same package I was trying to download wasn't there anymore. I tried
another one just to check out if this was normal and voila that one
disappeared as well!
This been going on like for a very long time now, so am kinda fed up with it. Also am not an expert.
Please can someone help me fix this. Thank you.
