Tried again, some times seen different errors after proceeding little a
head than what is reported during actual issue mentioned.

Later on tried without connecting to internet, then the installation is
complete.

Looks like the issue does not seemed to be consistently reproducible.

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Trying to install 64 bit desktop kubuntu 14.04 Alpha-2, iso downloaded
  from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/releases/trusty/alpha-2/

  Installation is tried on a vm with Virtual Box.

  As soon as the machine is started with iso, it has crashed with and
  even automatic problem report could not be invoked, neither command
  prompt was available at the moment.

  Could only captured the screen shot, attaching the same.
