EJ, it's unaffected by the init system debate. Debian has always used,
and hopefully will use udev. Its systemd version is currently rather old
so that it still uses the older udev rules, but for fixing this bug
upstream and in Ubuntu it needs to be done in the hwdb. Of course your
rule is still valid for a Debian box.

Title:
  [keymap] Acer Aspire One A110 Fn+F5 Key release

Status in “systemd” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Committed

Bug description:
  I got this key repeating like crazy, so i followed the instructions
  and produced this

  ENV{DMI_VENDOR}=="Acer", ATTR{[dmi/id]product_name}=="AOA110", RUN
  +="keyboard-force-release.sh $devpath acer-switchvideomode"

  the acer-switchvideomode has this entry:

  0xA9 switchvideomode # Fn+F5

  I am on Debian 7.0 (Crunchbang) with my Acer Aspire One A110. I hope
  you can include this in the next udev-release. Thank you!
