I was poking around on the above unflipped image and noticed some weird
permissions. Because its unflipped, I am not going to list everything,
just ones that definitely seem wrong.

/run is currently (it should be 0755):

/etc is currently (it should be 0755):

These files are all world-writable-- is this safe?

These directories have the SGID bit set, which might intentional (maybe because of the lack of full-udev?) for controlling ownership of the files in these directories, but I think it is worth bringing up:
