Can be worked-around by going back to the "meets pre-requisites" screen,
then manually removing (on one of the VTs) the VG and purging the PV
signature. Then returning to the partitioner.

Title:
LVM volumes can not be removed in manual partition screen
Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Testcase: http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/testcases/1471/info
Hardware: KVM-VM
Incidentally the virtio disk I used had a LVM install present. When
selecting "other" and entering the manual partitioner, it is not
possible to remove the LVM volumes. Only the "change" button becomes
active, not the remove "-" one.
