Public bug reported:
Had a dual-boot with Win7 and Ubuntu 13.something. Not sure what, but
something caused Ubuntu to boot into read-only mode. Tried doing an
reinstall over Ubuntu with no avail. Same read-onl error. GRUB was
working and I was able to load Win7 with no issues. Decided to try
reinstalling Ubuntu again, with a fresh LiveCD. Numerous attempts
failed. Tried reformatting the drive that Ubuntu was on. GRUB is now
either nonexistant or not loading. Cannot get into Win7. Multiple
formatting of the Ubuntu drive gives no progress to installing Ubuntu. I
figure if I can get Ubuntu working, GRUB will come with.
