[Bug 1290563] [NEW] tar backup and restore produces corrupt data

Public bug reported:

I'm using xfsprogs 3.1.9ubuntu1 on 13.10.

I tar'd a disk partition from a connected drive taken from a Buffalo
Linkstation using

tar pcvf /home/.../xfs.tar . (whilst on the relevant dir)

The tar worked fine (as far as I could tell), but when I restored this
to a new drives xfs partition, the resulting restore was totally messed
up. It 'looked' ok from an ls of the root, but several folders down and
directories were listed as files, and a fourth level directory listed
the second level directory as it's contents. It is totally unusable.

** Affects: xfsprogs (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New

** Tags: corruption xfs xfsprogs
