Got this error while installing Mint Maya 13 XFCE 32bit from live DVD.
Problem solved when I created a bootable USB with Image Writer
application, and removing slideshow with apt-get in terminal.
In my case, the error occurs at exactly the point where the slideshow in
the installer starts, after user setup.

Bug description:
Installed both Lubuntu and Xubuntu 12.04 and they both installed but the error message still exists in the dropdown terminal box in the install window. No noticable problems as a result of this though.
Have not tried Ubuntu
