This a crasher in bash 4.3 reproducible by typing '!' at the
commandline.  It is a regression vs. bash 4.2-5ubuntu3.

Rebuilding bash 4.2-5ubuntu3 with current toolchain in trusty doesn't
trigger the problem, so it appears to be a source bug in bash 4.3.
