You will have to be more specific.  On the partitioning screen you must
select a partition to be mounted in the root ( / ) directory.

  No root file system defined

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  When I try to install ubuntu 13.10, on the installation screen i
  cannot select which drive to install ubuntu to. When i click install
  now it just says no root file system defined.
