I did not have that ppa enabled (and haven't since a prior version of
Ubuntu) but I went ahead and re-added it wiat "apt-add-repository" and
then used "ppa-purge" to remove it again. Then i tried to process the
upgrade again and it still failed with the same error. I'm sorry, I am
pretty handy with Linux, but I don't know how to troubleshoot this
issue.

  I've been trying for months and always get the same error that may be
  caused by using a pre-release or unapproved packages. This is a VERY
  old install (started at 8.04) so things are a little crazy, but I
  don't even know how to troubleshoot this issue...
