install Ubuntu.  I'd recommend performing a back up of your existing

  Install crashes upon starting installation

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  After selecting whether I want to instal Ubuntu along with the second OS or to erase the other OS completely, the installer crashes without installing ubuntu onto my computer. 
  I have tried seeing if the HD is out of date but it's not.
  I have also moved the computer to a cooler location and waited for the computer to cool off before re-installing.
  None of these options help and the installer crashes all the time.
