[Bug 1299679] [NEW] update-manager crashed when upgrading to Trusty Tahr

Public bug reported:

Using 13.10, tried updating to 14.04 via update-manager -d, manager got
as far as setting up new repositories then i recieved the error stating
it could not verify the checksum. cleared apt cache, tried again, same
error. changed to different repository, same error.
