[Bug 1299740] [NEW] Ubuntu 14.04 Final Beta installer hangs

Public bug reported:

It just hangs on the "Preparing to install Ubuntu" screen. Nothing
happens even after 5 minutes. I tried installing Ubuntu from CD and USB
drive - no difference. I also tried passing nodmraid kernel option, also
without success, and finally I tried installing it from Live CD and
directly from "Install".

Here is what I found in the syslog:
