You seem to have two meta packages installed ubuntu and kubuntu:

2014-04-26 17:08:51,267 DEBUG Marking 'ubuntu-desktop' for upgrade
2014-04-26 17:08:51,605 DEBUG Marking 'kubuntu-desktop' for upgrade

This then leads to an error upgrading update-manager:

2014-04-26 17:08:52,152 DEBUG blacklist expr 'update-manager' matches 'update-manager-kde'
2014-04-26 17:08:52,153 DEBUG The package 'update-manager-kde' is marked for removal but it's in the removal blacklist

You might try removing update-manager-kde and see if that helps.
