[Bug 1315612] [NEW] Distro upgrade crashes

Public bug reported:

The update manager starts it's upgrade Ubuntu to 14.04 and it loads the
software repos and then asks to disable third party repos, which I
accept and then starts to load the new repos and get about 75% through
and says it can't complete the task and reverts back to original
settings.
