[Bug 1317015] [NEW] Ubuntu 14.04 Shuts Down, attemped Reunbstall of 13.10 Fails

Public bug reported:

Consistent problems with Ubunu v14.04 as to Computer juet Turning Off
(not Rebooting) when Downloading and  Installing Software. Attempted Re-
Install from CD, only does not read CD, but only  Boots back into the
Old v14.04 from HDD. Attemped re-install of previous v13.10 from CD
works,and has always worked, but now crashes with the attached Error
Log's. If I can get v13.10 to Install, that woeks well for me, and
v14.04 and above not needed, as I have all necessary Files backed up on
160gb External HDD..
