Reviewing the files from your upgrade attempt you seem to have enabled
the xorg-edgers-ppa.  This will prevent the upgrade as that PPA contains
different versions of packages essential to Ubuntu.  The page,

Status in “ubuntu-release-upgrader” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Can't migrate from 13.10 to 14.04 for an unknown reason with  "do-
  release-upgrade".

  1) I purged ppa gnome3-team/gnome3-staging and gnome3-team/gnome3-next
  2) I did a dist-upgrade and a reboot.
  3) Nothing wrong with "sudo dpkg --audit"
  4) Here is the output of "do-release-upgrade"  (french) :

  Un problème insoluble est survenu lors de la préparation de la mise à 
  niveau. 

  Ceci peut-être dû à : 
  * la mise à niveau vers une version de développement d'Ubuntu ;

  * des paquets logiciels non officiels, non fournis par Ubuntu. 

  Si rien de tout cela ne s'applique, veuillez signaler ce bogue en
