Public bug reported:

After the upgrade to 14.04 some applications show similar symptoms when
I try to write an uppercase letter or a symbol:

1. In Firebug and Chrome DevTools, while editing HTML or CSS, the edition loses focus and nothing is written.
2. In the properties editor inside Eclipse, the cursor goes to the begin of the line before the letter or symbol is written.

I tried to use Sticky-Keys and the problem persists.
I reactivated CapsLock to mitigate the problem for uppercase letters.

If I paste it from somewhere else, it works.

** Affects: grub2 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
