You don't appear to have an EFI system partition so you need to install
grub to the MBR of whichever drive your bios is booting from.

** Changed in: grub-installer (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Invalid

Title:
  Tried to install Ubuntu (dualboot with Windows 8) manually because the
  installer has not detected Windows 8.

Status in “grub-installer” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  I found a tutorial on internet that explains how to do the partitions
  manually if the installer doesn't detect Windows 8, but according to
  the tutorial, no matter about what we select for the boot program
  during the installation, since the UEFI partition exists, the
  installer should know what to do with it. But finally it crashed :(
  Maybe The installer cannot detect Windows 8 but my computer is not
  UEFI anyway ?
