Title:
  Auto-retry on apt-get update failures

Status in “autopkgtest” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
"apt-get update" occasionally fails with something like

  W: Failed to fetch bzip2:/var/lib/apt/lists/partial/ftpmaster
  .internal_ubuntu_dists_utopic_universe_binary-i386_Packages Hash Sum
  mismatch

This happens when apt downloads Release, then a mirror pulse happens
in the middle, and the subsequently downloaded Packages.gz are from
  the next archive update.

In that case we should auto-retry apt-get once, like in
  http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~canonical-launchpad-branches/launchpad-
  buildd/trunk/revision/106?compare_revid=104
